Currently, I proofread for independent publishers, typesetters and businesses.

My work includes academic non-fiction, fiction and company documentation/specifications.

My proofreading training was with the Publishing Training Company in London. I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Editing & Proofreading.

I generally charge per 1000 words. My rates vary by client, but are very competitive.

Additionally, I've extensive work experience gained in the City of London. I worked as an FX trader for two International banks, thereby requiring the skills to work quickly and accurately under pressure.

Latterly in my City career, I worked as a Business/Quality Assurance Analyst for a software company that provides front-to-back processing solutions. This role necessitated understanding the business and technical requirements of clients (and prospective/pipeline clients) - to be able to listen and understand the client's needs, and to accurately document these requirements. Furthermore, I was involved in the QA testing of patches, bug-fixes and new software builds, which required an attention to detail and an 'eagle-eye' to spot potential defects and make improvements before release and roll-out to the client.

I have a dedicated and passionate approach to my work. My aim is to provide prospective clients with the best solutions for their needs, coupled with a focussed, personal service.

As a member of the CIEP I subscribe to its code of practice:
